Merry Christmas!

Christmas was nice this year. Lance, Gail, and kids came from Ridgecrest to spend a few days and Christmas with us. On Christmas Eve we went out to eat with some friends of ours. We were going to go ice skating and visit the downtown area but they were shutting everything down so we came home, got into jammies, and watched movies. Christmas Day was funny. The twins loved opening presents, although I don't think they really understood what was going on. But they sure knew it was fun! We had to take each present from them after they opened it so they would keep going. Paper and bows were big hits. Lots of clothes, toys, and books. They got a Dressy Bessy and Dapper Dan from Dan and I along with some other stuff like cars and Little People and books. They also got their first Mega Blocks, some VTech toys, Leapfrog toys, My First Tea Party, My First Tool Box, and a bunch of board books. Time to rotate out all the baby toys and make room for new! Amber and Zach opened their Christmas presents here too. They got new laptops and a bunch of other stuff. Gail and I made a Christmas lunch and then we relaxed the rest of the day. The kids (big and small!) all had fun playing with new toys.

Visiting Santa

We took the twins to see Santa last weekend back in Ridgecrest. Gail and Amber and Amber's friend Brittany went too. They weren't scared of him but did look at him like he was weird. Very cute and quick. I can't wait until they get to the age where they know what Santa is.

Grandpa and Grandmom Workman Visit!

I'm a little slow with my postings! The twins were blessed to have their Grandpa and Grandmom Workman here for their 1st birthday. Dad and Peggy stayed for a week. Not long enough. Maybe longer next time. Lance and Gail and kids came for a long weekend. The rest of the week was spent with the twins. Dad worked on some things around the house we haven't had time for (and repaired Dan's pressure washer-the dogs chewed on it, oops!). Peggy went with us to Babies R Us to pick out car seats and do some more birthday shopping. They got to see Luci start to cruise around the furniture and Eli take off on his hands and knees. Elijah is definately still Grandpa's boy. He spent most of his time with his grandpa, climbing all over him and playing with him. Luci was a little more aloof and clingy with me which is unusual for her but she eventually played with grandpa and grandma too. I miss you! Can't wait to see you again!

Happy 1st Birthday!!

Well the 1st year is over and it's been crazy! And I know there is only a lot more to come. They've changed so much. Luci has her 5th tooth coming in and is trying to walk. Eli is getting his first tooth finally and is crawling on all 4's like a crazy boy! He's quick! Pulls himself up on everything too. They also antagonize each other alot more now. Yay. Anyway, we had a first birthday party for them on Saturday. A lot of fun. I went crazy with the cakes and decorations but it's their 1st. We had quite a few friends here with their kids and Dad and Peggy are here from NC. Eli really loved his cake. He even pooped bright green from the black icing on his smash cake. Luci liked her cake but wasn't as into it as Eli was. She was more interested in her Minnie balloon. They actually showed interest in pulling the paper off their presents. They got a lot of clothes and some new toys. We got them an activity cube which they love. And thanks to our wonderful family pitching in they got 2 brand new carseats. Riding in style now! They are keeping us busier and busier and make us laugh every day! Can't wait to see what this year brings....

Marine Corps Ball 2009

Dan and I attended the Marine Corps Birthday Ball this past Friday night. We got a babysitter and everything! The ball was in San Diego and was very nice. The guest speaker was funny and made it short which was nice! We honored those that just passed away in helicopter crashes recently. Very somber moment in the evening. There was a table set up in their honor. It was our first night out together without the kids in a long time and it was long overdue. Didn't last long enough!

Halloween Night

Lance, Gail, Zach, Amber, and Amber's friend Brittany came down for Halloween weekend to take the twins trick-or-treating for their 1st Halloween. We went over to my friend Dena's neighborhood. Amber and Brittany dressed up and took the twins around in their new push cars. Luci and Eli dressed up as bunnies. Eli amazingly left his hat on all night. I think his pumpkin light kept him distracted! Luci kept hers on long enough for some pictures and then wouldn't have anything else to do with it. Even Lance tried it on to show her how cute it was! We went around the neighborhood for a little while. There were many "how cute" and "aaaahhhh" as we went around. The twins were really good and I think they had fun. No fussing at all. With all the costumes and lights I think they had plenty to keep them entertained. At the end of the night we stopped by a haunted house for the big kids and then called it a night. Luci and Eli slept good that night!

Tuesday, October 27, 2009

Found this toy on one of my yard sale expeditions. It plays alot of music, changes songs when they push the buttons, and all the stars light up. I thought they would love standing at it. They did! If you put them side by side after awhile they start trying to push each other out of the way. Very cute.

Both are fighting colds right now. Luci actually spiked a fever today of 102.5 but hasn't shown any other signs of illness. She has clear snot but she is also cutting a new tooth. Doc said they were comfortable giving her until tomorrow to see how she does. Gave her Tylenol and now her temp is normal. Elijah has a little cough and the same clear snot but no fever.

Halloween is this weekend. We are going over to a friend's house for Mexican food and then trick or treating. Should be fun. Lance and Gail and the kids are coming down for the weekend. Amber is dressing up so she can take the twins to the doors. Hhhhmmm...since they can't have candy I wonder who gets it?? Yummy!

Activity table

We got this activity table from a friend. We use it now instead of our coffee table. Elijah likes to pull himself up on everything. And even though this table is just as high as our coffee table it has a lip on it that he can hold on to. The toys also don't fall off. We spent a 1/2 hour the other night rolling a ball back and forth. Luci can't pull herself up yet but it probably won't be long! I added a cute picture of Luci eating one of her favorite snacks-crackers!

Bath Time

The twins love the bathtub. I think it's one of their favorite things to do. They splash so much the bathroom and I are soaked! They just started going on their tummies in the water last night so Dan caught some pictures while I stood guard. The pool should be fun next year but they definately aren't afraid of the water so I'll have to be extra watchful.

11 Months!

Yay! The twins are 11 months already. Luci is babbling away, claps all the time, and is scooting around the house looking for trouble. Elijah pulls himself up on everything. He's babbling alot more now. He and Luci are always getting into something. If they're quiet I know I better see what's up! We went to Ridgecrest so Dan could go hunting last weekend and I stayed with Gail and Amber. Girls weekend (and Eli too!). We hit some yard sales and got some great deals on clothes and some toys. Elijah got his first ride-on car and he loves it. His short little legs can't make it go yet but he crawls over it and sits on it. He and Luci will sit there and play with it for hours. Luci is getting her own room and I've been having a ball decorating it. I can't wait until it's all done. Definately a girl's room. Elijah's room will get a little more "boy" too. And since his room is a little bigger and already childproofed we'll leave the toys in there. Yesterday I let Luci try and play with Jasmine and Luci was terrified of her. Eli wasn't too thrilled either. They love the dogs but are scared of the cats. Go figure! Next month is the big first birthday party and Grandpa and Grandma Workman are coming to visit!!

More pictures!

10 Months Already!

Wow time flies. The twins turned 10 months this week. They are very mobile now. They are so entertaining to watch. They are hilarious. Luci still has 2 teeth and Eli has none! It doesn't slow down his eating though! Eli is starting to attempt to pull up on things. He can get up on his hands and knees but he doesn't crawl that way. If you lay on the floor he'll climb right over you. Luci is still in physical therapy for her neck. She hates it and cries and screams. Hopefully she'll get better the more she goes. A little about the pictures: Elijah passed out playing, the other 3 are the twins crawling down the hall. Eli decided he couldn't make it back and put his head down, and Luci is reaching for the camera. Not much more news but here are some new pictures!

The PlayZone!

We picked up this playzone this week. We were instantly in love with it! Since the twins are mobile (they do a mean low crawl!) this helps contain them a little. It also keeps the dogs off of their play area which is a bonus. The playzone has one panel that is full of toys/activities for them to play with. They love it. Spinning beads, music and lights, and other stuff. This thing is a blessing and extremely helpful. At least until they start walking! In other news, Luci is getting a 3rd tooth (Eli still has nothing) and Eli is pushing up and rocking back on forth on his hands and knees. He'll be pulling up on things in no time! Yep, brace yourself (or myself!).
