Sea World

Mom, Werter, and Daniel flew out to CA to see everyone last Friday. On Saturday we went to Sea World for Amber's 13th birthday. It was also Mom's birthday the day before. Happy Birthday!! Mom and Dad bought Amber a swim with the dolphins for her birthday. She had a great time. The day at Sea World had a scary start. We were making the trek from the truck to the park and were walking along a sidewalk and all of a sudden Gail took a spill. The curb was very slippery and had a nasty slope to it and Gail made a wrong step and went down. They had to take her to the first aid tent right away and she had to spend the day being pushed in a wheelchair. It could have been worse, although she still hurts a week later. Hopefully nothing broke! The twins did great. I think they had fun. During the Shamu show, Luci konked out on mom's lap. But Elijah watched the whole thing. Towards the end of the show everyone chants for Shamu and he jumps and splashes and the music is playing really loud. Elijah got so excited his arms and legs went straight out and he was squealing and screaming. He looked like he was going to come right out of his diaper. Fortunately it was caught on film. We took them to see dolphins and penguins and all kinds of critters. I can't wait to take them next year!

More North Carolina

Also while in NC, I met up with our great friend Amy. We met in CA and she and her family are now in NC (hubby is a marine). So we met at Pullen Park in Raleigh for the day. The twins had their first ride on a carousel and on a train. It was fun. They didn't seem to care for the carousel at first until it really got going and then they liked the wind in their face and the loud music. They didn't respond much to the train, only when we went through a lot of trees! Luci and Eli also met cousins and aunts and uncles from Illinois. The twins did really well with everyone and just took everything in stride. Lots of quality family time! And we were able to sneak in some fun too!

North Carolina in June

It was unfortunate circumstances that took us back to see the family in June. My grandfather passed away after a long battle with cancer. But on the positive side my grandmother and other family were able to see the twins. The twins did great on the plane ride there and back. We had lots of help since Lance and Gail and kids went back for the funeral too. We spent time with everyone we could in a week and a half. Elijah is definately a "grandpa's boy". He even got to sit on the tractor! Luci steals everyone's hearts with her constant smiling. Grandma Mildred definately had a soft spot for her!
